Special French Session (during but not part of) Chippenham festival. - Entry Free. 7.30 to late. Venue - The Old Road Tavern.
For the last four years we have run a free French session for musicians and dancers, The weather has always been good and so it has been held in the garden finishing in the early hours. This year the weather predictions are not good so the event may well be held in the hostility suit (Barn) and therefore couples dancing may have to be closer together than is usual!!!
The session at the Old Road Tavern, where local musicians and dancers are supported throughout the year, has become a very well supported event over the last 3 years.
The music will be for D/G instruments but, instruments in other keys will enjoy the challenge of playing in D/G and as the evening progresses, with help of Archers Golden, the fingering should become greatly simplified!
Thanks are due to Don Ward who has 'Fathered' this French session over the years and we hope he continues 'Fathering' for many years to come.
